The bar scene in the Florida Keys is vibrant, lively and filled with a unique blend of tropical charm and laid-back vibes. As you explore the different islands that make up the Florida Keys, you'll find a variety of bars each with it's own distinct character, atmosphere, and variety of local live music that is sure to entertain . Of course we love Sloppy Joes, The Green Parrot and Irish Kevin's, but here we will list some of our favorite bars in the Florida Keys that may not be super well known to tourists. We promise they are worth the trip off the beaten path!
Tattoos & Scars is THE locals hotspot of Key West. One of their slogans is "Your Hometown Bar no Matter Where You're From" and it definitely rings true! Open for over a decade, this bar is open 365 days a year 7 days a week and is the spot all the local bartenders hang out after their shift.
One of the standout features of Tattoos & Scars Saloon is the sense of community that is welcoming and fills the establishment. It's a place where locals and visitors come together sharing stories, laughter, drinks and good times. They are also the creator & host of the famous Onesie Pub Crawl where locals and tourists from around the world come to dress up in a onesie and bar hop throughout Key West.
Tattoos & Scars has hosted many events that have raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities. They have a daytime happy hour from 4-7pm AND late night happy hour from 2-4am. Don't forget to check out Shots & Giggles next door. It's another locals favorite located in the same building as Tattoos & Scars.
As you enter 22&Co Bar (also known as Tutu Bar), you will immediately notice the vibrant and eclectic atmosphere that fills the space. The bar is known for it's playful and whimsical decor, with colorful tutus hanging from the ceiling, adding a touch of fun and charm to the ambiance.
One of the highlights of the 22&Co is their delicious array of martinis that can be ordered. From their 'You Shook Me All Night Long' espresso martini, garnished with edible glitter & coffee beans, to their 'Smooth Operator' Peanut Butter Martini that features Ice Cream as an ingredient and of course edible glitter, there are many fun concoctions to choose from. A definitely must try when in Key West.

The Garden of Eden Bar in Key West is a truly one-of-a-kind establishment that offers a bold and liberating experience. It's located on the rooftop of the Bull & Whistle Bar on Duval Street and is infamous for being a clothing-optional bar. Nudity is not mandatory but many visitors choose to embrace the freeing atmosphere, so be ready for an eyeful!
During the day it's more of a laid back atmosphere, but at night it transforms into a party! With live entertainment and the lively backdrop with the rooftop location, it is a unique and liberating experience when visiting Key West. It's important to note that the Garden of Eden is strictly for adults only, where proper behavior & respect for others is expected. The bar fosters a safe and inclusive environment where people can freely express themselves without judgement.
Go for a visit! Keep in mind, there are no photos allowed and no cell phones allowed to be used while you are on the rooftop. Make sure to stop at the 2nd floor Whistle Bar & the 1st floor Bull Bar on your way up to or down from the Garden of Eden.
The Ricks complex is well known in Key West and consists of 8 different bars. One of our favorite bars in the complex is Ricks Downstairs.
If you need some karaoke in your life, Rick's Downstairs is the place to go! While they have daily music ranging from classic rock, country and reggae in the daytime, they also have karaoke every single night starting at midnight and ending at 4am, 365 days a year.
Frequently visited by locals and tourists alike, Rick's Downstairs is the favorite karaoke bar on the island. Fridays boast $5 martinis in the Loft from 9-11pm. Tuesday Boozeday offers two $6 drinks for $8 and Jager is $4 all day every day. Ask the bartender about the nightly specials.
Mary Ellen's is a really cool bar right off of Duval Steet. Upon arriving, you step into quaint but vibrant setting adorned with a wall of old beer bottles, a ceiling full of lights, vintage photographs, local artwork and just a cool nostalgic vibe.
Mary Ellen's holds a variety of charity events for fellow neighbors and local organizations, and the Vibrator Races is the most popular. It is quite the lively event where you are bidding amongst the large crowd on which vibrator will win the race down the custom made vibrator racetrack located at center stage. It's loud, competitive, and so much fun! Their events have raised tens of thousands of dollars for local charities.
Mary Ellen's is also known for their famous grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, but there menu has a wide variety of options that are guaranteed to please everyone in your group. Happy hour is 3-6pm Monday-Friday. 2-for-1 well drinks, select domestics, draft beer and cocktails on tap
The best Irish Bar in Key West! Unwind amidst the palm trees and warm ocean breezes as you experience the charm of Ireland in the tropics. From their perfectly poured pints of Guinness to their traditional Irish pub fare, every detail at Brady’s Pub harks back to the Emerald Isle.
Known for its lively atmosphere, friendly staff, draught beer selection and HD TVs in every direction, Brady’s Pub is your ultimate destination to catch your favorite games in Key West. They have daily food specials that aren't always available on the menu, so be sure to check it out.

The Whistle Stop Pub & Grille is a hole in the wall bar to visit while you're in or stopping through Islamorada. Open late every night, this is the only late night local's hot spot in Islamorada.
The Whistle Stop offer pool tables, beer pong, a jukebox to play your favorite tunes, and an extensive menu with some of the best late night eats in the Florida Keys. Happy hour 4-6pm.
Opened in 1938 and run by the Whitehurst family since 1963, the Caribbean Club is the oldest bar in the Upper Keys and one of the last relics of Old Key Largo.
Full of character and characters, the Caribbean Club is a watering hole for locals and tourists alike. With the Florida Bay as a backyard, their sunset views can’t be beat. Join them for live music on their waterfront stage Thursday through Sunday evenings, plus karaoke every Wednesday night.

Kiki's Sandbar & Grille Waterfront Beach Bar & Grille

Looe Key Tiki Bar in the Florida Keys is a fantastic beachfront oasis that offers a laid back and tropical atmosphere. Located on Ramrod Key, this popular tiki bar is known for it's stunning waterfront views, delicious drinks and relaxed vibes. The bar is located right on the beach, offering breathtaking vistas of the crystal clear waters and swaying palm trees.
Looe Key offers frequent live entertainment that plays while you are enjoying sunsets or day drinking by the water. One of the highlights of Looe Key Tiki Bar is the proximity of Looe Key Reef, a renowned snorkeling and diving spot. Charters to explore the reef are offered here daily, throughout the day. Definitely worth a stop to enjoy a drink while listening to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore in the fabulous Florida Keys.
